At the start of a month, the same question repeats in many projects: have you recorded everything? The invoice issuer writes to everyone involved, waits for answers, and tries to learn whether time is still missing or already reviewed. This is not only annoying. It also remains unclear whether no answer means something is open or someone simply has not responded.
An invoice needs a reliable current state. Before it is created, it should be clear that people who worked on a project have recorded and reviewed their time completely.
Confirming instead of repeatedly asking
The feature lets each person who recorded time on a project mark the month as complete. This does not confirm an abstract obligation; it confirms that person’s part of the collaboration: my entries for this month are complete and reviewed.
The invoice issuer sees current status directly on the project. There is no need to remind everyone generally. When a confirmation is missing, they can ask the specific person for whom something remains open.
Personal confirmation creates the close
Confirmation happens through the person who recorded time. By confirming, they declare the month complete for this project from their own perspective. Their entries for that month are automatically locked and can no longer be changed.
The lock protects the basis for the invoice. It prevents confirmed data changing unnoticed later and makes it clear which state was used for billing.
Exceptions remain possible
A lock does not make mistakes permanent. If an adjustment is needed, the invoice issuer can release the relevant person again. Only this person decides because only they know whether the invoice has already been sent and how a deviation should be handled.
The release remains targeted. The whole month is not opened for everyone when only one entry needs correction.
Less friction, more reliability
The flow replaces many small questions with a visible process: record, confirm personally, lock. Everyone knows their part. The invoice issuer sees what is missing. The invoice is created from a working-time basis reviewed by the people who recorded it.
